The Molycorp minerals mine, is the only rare earth mine in production, in the western hemisphere, and produces 4 million tons a year of rare earth minerals, utilized in various energy efficient technologies.
The two key features of the Verti-Press filter which provided the technical advantage during the extensive equipment evaluation were 1) its single point discharge, which meant the end user did not have to provide multiple sections of dry solids handling equipment, and 2) the chamber isolation feature which allows the unit to continue to operate with any permutation of chambers offline.
These two advantages maximize production rate, and allows the end user to produce the highest quality product, as quickly, and as efficiently as possible.
