| An Industrial Minerals Producer, USA, mines a filter aid, for use in a variety of engineered industrial applications. The Verti-Press filter is the key device implemented in this process as it filters, washes, and dewaters the filter aid product.
Prior to installation of the Verti-Press Filter, The Mineral Producer had utilized rotary vacuum drum filters to filter, wash, and dewater the product at their other locations. Therefore, before beginning to mine, The Mineral Producer conducted an extensive engineering study to determine the best available technology that could improve their process; the Verti-Press was selected.
Two key features of the Verti-Press filter that gave this product the technical advantage during the extensive evaluation were:
- Its ability to efficiently wash the product via the robust plug flow wash design.
- The chamber isolation feature which allows the unit to continue to operate with any permutation of chambers offline.
