Filtration Cycle
The Clean Discharge valve "B" is opened.
Dirty liquid enters through the top of the vessel, flowing through the media and discharging through the clean water discharge "B".
Solids are captured in the media bed. |
 |
Agitation Cycle
The Clean Discharge valve "B" is closed.
The Filter By-Pass valve "C" is opened and the agitator is started.
The media bed is agitated freeing the solid particles that the media has captured. |
 |
Backwash Cycle
The Backwash Discharge Valve "A" is opened, and backwash begins.
A small amount of liquid is used to carry the solid particles out of the filter through the Backwash Discharge |
 |
Delay Cycle
All valves are closed and the Agitator is stopped.
The media bed is allowed to settle down before proceeding. |
 |
Recirculation Cycle
The Recirculation Discharge Valve "D" is opened.
The media bed is packed down and filtration has begun.
Recirculation allows for dirty water to be cleaned from the support screens and clean water discharge piping of the filter. |
